Top Ten Hitters in Mariners History

Number 10: Jose Lopez

 On July 31, 2004 the Seattle Mariners called up Jose Lopez from Triple A Tacoma.  By the end of the 2004 season Lopez had a batting average of .232 with 5 home runs and 22 RBI’s.  The 2005 Season was an injury plagued sophomore season which saw Jose spend the majority of the year with Triple A Tacoma.  During his career with the Mariners, Lopez was looked upon to provide the power in the lineup.  He was selected as an All Star in 2006.  He played Short Stop, Second Base and Third Base.  Jose’s best year as a Seattle Mariner came in 2009, He had an AVG. of .272, 25 home runs, 167 hits and 96 RBI’s.  Lopez’s Mariner career came to an end after the 2010 season when he was traded to the Colorado Rockies for minor league pitcher Chaz Roe.
